Senior IPS officer alleged of sexual harassment and corruption in posting in the State Intelligence Department and demanded a high level probe to identify and punish the culprits. Dispatching a letter in this regard to the principal Secretary (Home) Devashish Panda, IG (Civil Defence) Amitabh Thakur, alleged that the role of constables in intelligence department is extremely critical but sadly specific allegations of corruption and arbitrariness in its appointments are being made.  For instance, he claimed that 116 constables were transferred to intelligence department on 16 October 2014, but out of them transfer of 60 constables got cancelled the next day on 17 October.

Similarly on 27 October transfer of 63 constables to intelligence was cancelled and they were repatriated back to district police. Surprisingly on23 November these transfer orders were once again changed and all 123 were taken back to intelligence department. He further said that in an specific example of husband-wife  who were constable, revealed before him that they are being harassed for not paying the bribe money, where the husband was sent back to district police and wife sent to far away Varanasi district, while many people were posted to the same place when she sought her posting.

Most seriously, the male constable told him about the alleged sexual harassment of his wife by a senior IPS officer in Intelligence department, requesting for help. He has sought to be a whistleblower against this corruption on which Thakur claimed to have asked for his complete security and high-level enquiry in this matter.
