Investers meets industrialists and bankers

Two main national Parties, Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) both flayed chief minister’s move of organising investors meet in Mumbai to attract industrialists and bankers to the State and called it just as a cosmetic exercise to misguide everyone  on development front.

``The deteriorating law and order situation where even the cops and police stations were not remained safe, poor power scenario, damaged roads and closing industries due to various labour and other problems, all are not hidden from anyone so chief ministers move of presenting a cosmetic picture of the present scenario here in Uttar Pradesh is not going to benefit at all to the government or the people", asserted Satyadeo Tripathi, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Media Cell, while calling Akhilesh Yadav’s efforts just as a wastage of public money.

``Huge subsidy for suiting in Uttar Pradesh, waiving of entertainment tax and inviting film personalities for dinner at his official residence might get some applause for Akhilesh Yadav from the Bollywood producers but none of the industrialists is going to get fooled by the distorted picture presented by chief minister in Mumbai", Tripathi cited while adding that what success did the chief minister received by earlier inviting similar meet in New Delhi in 2014. ``Even one of close lieutenant of Samajwadi Party chief, Mulayam Singh Yadav,  who is one of the top industrialist of the country had make a Memorandum of Understanding to install a huge power unit in Dadri but even when he withdraw the project than who will be attracted to invest in SP government’s regime is any ones guess", Tripathi further added. The Bharatiya Janta Party too called Mumbai meet as just a huge wastage of public money. ``It would be better if instead of informing the industrialists that 2 crore eggs were consumed every day in UP, or that the State is biggest market due to its largest population, the chief minister should tell the invitees  that how much relaxation he had given on VAT, what is agriculture, DDP growth in the State, or how much investment already came in the State etc", cited spokesman of the BJP state unit,  Vijay Bhadur Pathak while taking on chief minister on the investors meet. ``Akhilesh should tell the public why the Public, Private Partnership model is failing in Uttar Pradesh, or why the schemes run by government are closing mid-way etc", Pathak said.

``Chief Minister Mayawati had done similar investor meet in Mumbai when she was in power and later Akhilesh followed similar exercise in New Delhi in 2014 and later also in Agra, but the amount investment which came to the State is before everyone", pointed BJP spokesman while adding that even the investment on holding such lavish meets in other state is probably more than what the investment came through it.
