Samajwadi Party president akhilesh Yadav has said the people of UP have rejected the BJP and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the prime minister instead of `Man ki baat’, should now devote his attention of `Kam ki baat’. Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance would lead in the sixth phase of polling to be held on Saturday.
Addressing several meetings in Ghazipur on Friday Akhilesh Yadav said ``the ground swell of support of the people for the SP-Congress alliance has unnerved the BJP so that it has deployed its top leadership and the Union ministers for campaigning in east UP districts’’. Akhilesh addressed seven election meetings in Ghazipur on Friday.
``The BJP led NDA government at the Centre has failed to deliver in last three years. Had they had done something they would shared their achievements with the people. The BJP leaders are now demoralised and are worried over the wave in favour of the SP-Congress alliance sweeping the state’’, claimed Akhilesh Yadav while addressing an election meeting in Ghazipur. He claimed that the alliance has so far maintained its lead in five phases of the assembly election and it will maintain its lead in remaining two phases of the election.
``I am daily addressing 6-7 election meetings and I tell the people about the development works done by my government in last five years and the response of the people is overwhelming. I see no such thing in the election speeches of the BJP leaders including the prime minister, they have nothing to share with the people’’, said Akhilesh Yadav adding `` prime minister must realise the people will no longer be impressed by the empty promises and he will have to work hard for bringing positive change in the lives of the common people’’.
`` The BJP has no issues to communicate with the people, that’s why they are raising such issues which have no connection with the concerns of the common people and they have vitiated the agenda of the political discourse during the elections. The people were swayed by rhetoric’s of Narendra Modi in 2014 lok Sabha elections. This time the people are not going to repeat their mistakes’’, said Akhilesh Yadav.
Cautioning the people against the BJP and the BSP Akhilesh Yadav said ``both the parties have joined hands in the past and they could do the same again’’. He said for the rapid development of the state and welfare of the people it’s essential that the Samajwadi Party led government be formed in the state.
