In a significant decision, the UP Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) on Thursday, ordered the UP Power Corporation officials to ensure that only the ACSR Moose or Bersmis conductors were installed in transmission lines.

A case was filed by a consumer body - UP Rajya Vidyut Upbhokta Parishad (UPRVUP) alleging that a  private company 'Isolex Corson' was lobbying to change the type of conductors despite

tenders being approved in favour of ACSR Moose for benefitting the former company by Rs 500 crore.

UPERC Chairman Shriram and member Meenakshi Singh in their order have asked UP Power Transmission Corporation and the private company to install only those conductors for which the tender was approved.
