The Iranian Ambassador to India, Gholam Reza Ansari said India has achieved special place in international politics which is a good sign. Not only it has better political ties with Iran but the business relations between India and Iran have also strengthened in past years.

"Iran has abundance of natural gas but it never pressures anyone to purchase it. Our country offered Gas pipeline to India and Pakistan but the project was stalled due to several reasons. The pipeline could have been brought to India through Ocean but due to political crisis it was not done. The governments of both the countries are still holding talks on the project and hopefully positive news would come out soon," said Ambassador before inaugurating the Weekly Classes of Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind at Imambara Gufranmaab on Saturday.

Earlier this year, India got invitation from United Nations to participate in Geneva-II to discuss on solutions for ending ongoing Syrian Crisis. "India has proven itself in the arena of International Politics. With such a stand it could play important role in ending the ongoing conflict in Syria. The Syrian people will have to come forward for stabilizing the political and social condition. Extremism in the country will not solve anything," he shared.

Speaking on business, political and cultural relations between India and Iran, Ansari said after the Iranian revolution in 1979, the relations with India was strengthened. Since then Iranian leaders especially "Rehbar-e-Iran" stresses on keeping better relations with India. "If one visits Iranian cities including Isfahan, Shiraz and Mashhad they will find the architecture similar to the historic monuments present in India. It shows the cultural relations between the countries," he added.

Expressing his views on the city of Nawabs, he said the city of lucknow is famous amongst the Iranian people and praises about it. He was glad to visit the city and in his two days long visit he wished to see the historic places and meet people to know more about culture and traditions.

Following it, Iranian Ambassador inaugurated Weekly class organised by Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind in the presence of Secretary General, Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind and Imam-e-Juma, Maulana Kalbe Jawwad. later, he went to Unity College and interacted with the students and faculty members. In the evening, a program was organised at Chota Imambara to mark the 35th anniversary of Iranian Revolution, in which Ambassador was present as chief guest.
