Incidents of violence to be videographed

Published on:

The UP government issued directions to video record all incidents of violence so that trouble-makers could be brought to justice. The move comes in the wake of a series of violent incidents in which cops were targeted and later the angry mob torched police stations and government vehicles.

IG (law and Order, Crime) RK Vishwakarma said that taking cognizance of the attack on government and public property, the government had directed that all such incidents be shot through camera. He said that cases could be registered based on the visual evidence and action could be taken. He said that besides criminal cases, the National Security Act could also be invoked against trouble-makers.

He disclsed that other measures would also be taken by the cops  to avert incidents of violence.
