It was yet another jolt to Samajwadi Party (SP) led state government on Wednesday in deceased serial blast accused Khalid Mujahid case after the family member refused to accept compensation of Rs six lakhs.

“The family members and members of Muslim community have spent their time and money on Khalid’s case since beginning. We do not want to hurt the feelings of those who have been pursuing the case, by taking compensation from SP government,” Khalid’s uncle, Mohd Zaheer Alam Falahi told The Pioneer over phone.

Cabinet Minister, Paras Nath Yadav went to Jaunpur for handing over the compensation amount to serial blast accused’s family members but his uncle refused to accept it. Falahi said he was not satisfied with government’s action in Khalid’s mysterious death case as even CBI probe had not been initiated so far.

On the demand of the family members, FIR was registered against 42 policemen including former DGP Yashpal Singh and ADG Brijlal at Barabanki police station who were involved in the arrest of Khalid in 2010. “I doubt on SP government’s intention over taking action against the cops involved in Khalid’s arrest. They should be suspended immediately and strict action should be taken against them,” demanded Falahi.

The state government has repeatedly assured the Muslim community that they are sincere in punishing the people if Khalid’s death was murder. The Muslims outfits, clerics, Rihai Manch and others are on their feet after the mysteries death of serial blast accused on May 18 while on transit from Faizabad court to lucknow jail near Ramsanehi ghat in Barabanki district.

Activists of the Rihai Manch are holding indefinite dharna opposite Vidhan Bhawan from past eight days demanding punishment of the guilty involved in the murder of Khalid. The activists said the refusal of compensation by Khalid’s family members was a major embarrassment for SP led state government.
