Aiming to provide an impetus to rural development, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that 'Gram Diwas' should be observed in every village once a week and the officers concerned should solve the problems of the village, villagers and farmers on the spot.

The chief minister asked local officials of Revenue, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development departments to set up 'Gram Chaupal' in coordination with the village heads to resolve the problems of the rural people.

Along with improving the functioning of the village secretariat, Yogi directed officials to complete the deployment of village assistants. He also asked officers to organise 'Gram Diwas' at police station, tehsil and block levels.

Local officers, panchayat secretaries, tehsildars, including beat officers will be asked to take part in this.

The chief minister directed officers of the village secretariat in gram panchayats of the blocks concerned to be present on 'Gram Diwas' to listen to the grievances of the villagers and redress them immediately.

During 'Gram Diwas', villagers will also be made aware of the welfare schemes of the government.
