Jailed former Mining minister Gayatri Prajapati, who was in news for allegedly bribed the judiciary for seeking bail from POCSO Court, was charged of offering a huge sum to a senior IPS officer to make him change his statement in a case linked to Prajapati.
Activist Dr Nutan Thakur claimed in lucknow on Friday that she and her IG husband Amitav Thakur were offered crores of rupees by Prajapati to get their statements changed in a case registered by her against the former minister.
Thakur said t hat offer was made by a close friend which they rejected. She said they would not legally pursue the offer further as they did not want the close friend to be embroiled. She said that the offer did not surprise them as facts surfaced about Prajapati that he even managed judges. She has written to DGP Sulkhan Singh to ensure their safety in the lightof the recent development.
Nutan Thakur got an FIR registered against Prajapati in June 2015 for trying to implicate her husband Amitabh and her in a false rape and other cases which was under investigation.
