The state unit of BJP has criticised Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for suspending an IAS officer on the apprehension of communal violence but turned a Nelson's eye on those District Magistrates where communal riots broke out in the past 16 months.
On one side a honest and young IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal has been suspended to fulfill the 'political agenda' of the ruling party while on the other hand the government has failed to control communal riots in the state, said BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak here on Thursday. In a statement here Pathak said while no action has been taken against any officer in the 34 communal riots occurred in the state in this Samajwadi Party regime but the Noida IAS officer was suspended where no communal violence took place.
''For the past two days, sectaries clashes are being witnessed in the old city of the state capital but nor the Chief Minister or his government was ready to control it,'' he alleged. Pathak said that the government has failed to deliver and now they are just doing politics on the career of the young officers.
