Honouring Former PM is a political step :SP

Smelling a rat in NDA Government’s move to honour former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, Samajwadi Party general Secretary and Uttar Pradesh Minority Welfare minister Mohammad Azam Khan said this was the reward for this Congress leader for supporting RSS in demolition of Babri mosque in 1992.

“By honouring the former PM BJP-led NDA Government is brought to the fore the secret pact between RSS and Rao in demolition of Babri Mosque on December 6, 1992. Everyone talked about this in hush-hush voice, But now it is clear that there was a tacit understanding between BJP and the Congress Prime Minister of that time,” Khan said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.

Khan released two letters in reaction to Government move to construct memorial in memory of P. V Narasimha Rao. Report says that NDA Government wants to build a Samadhi for PV Narasimha Rao for his contribution in bringing the economy back to rails post Janata Dal government’s fiasco when India was pushed to bankruptcy.

“It has come to my knowledge that the Centre is going to construct a memorial in the name of Narsimha Rao. It will be a reward to him for tacit understanding with RSS on December 6, 1992 for demolition of Babri mosque and construction of ‘chabutara’ on December 8,” Khan said in a statement issued here.

Khan said that with the construction of the memorial, the government wants to ensure that the memory of the demolition becomes part of the history. “This act of the government is an effort to destablise the social fabric of the country and this will have an adverse affect on the society,” he said. In second statement Khan raises question over CBI move to punish BJP leaders who had occupied constitutional posts. “It could be a mischievous act of the CBI by moving applications when they had in the past given clean chit to these BJP leaders whom we Muslim treat as conspirators. What CBI proves by moving fresh application,” he asks.

He also said that the land where makeshift Ram Temple is constructed in Ayodhya belongs to UP Sunni Central Wakf Board and of the Muslims.  This land should return to Muslims, he said.
