Stressing on importance of clean air and water Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav declared that his Government was committed for Clean and Green Uttar Pradesh and would take steps to ensure protection of natural resources. “Samajwadi party Government wants improvement in infrastructure but at the same time also wants that environment should be protected at any cost. Government has taken many steps to preserve nature. This shows our commitment towards Clean and Green UP,” Yadav said during the conclusion of live Green lucknow campaign here on Friday.
He said if his government has initiated projects to set up Agra-lucknow Expressway it has also initiated a scheme to build Janeshwar Mishra park at the area of 400 acre. Before that previous SP Government had set up lohia park. These two parks are lung of the city. We have also initiated project to clean river Gomti, he said. “The SP Government is giving omportance to green energy. For this, my government has initiated solar power projects. We have formulated Solar Power Energy asking investors to invest in this sector,” he said.
Yadav, who himself is an environment engineer, said his vision is that in near future all the mechanical operations should be carried out through solar energy. “Our government has also proposed projects to protect our green forests. People should also come forward to protect environment. They should join hands with government to make our city more clean and green,” he said.
