Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Friday, that if voted to power in 2022 , the SP government would order a high-level probe into the death of infants at BRD medical college of Gorakhpur in August this year.
Addressing a meeting at the state SP office, Yadav alleged that the BJP government was trying to cover up the matter with the objective of protecting influential people responsible for the tragedy at Gorakhpur medical college.
The SP chief said that the people wanted to know as to why the post mortem of bodies of the victim of Encephalitis were not conducted by the medical college authorioties.
Terming the Yogi government as a `government of jumlas’ (rhetorics), Yadav said that the government was directionless and they were misleading the people by announcing inquiry into works done by previous governments and issuing White Papers.
Akhilesh said that only Samajwadi Party had the strength to stop the BJP juggernaut and the biggest challenge before them was to win the two lok Sabha by-poll and one Assembly by-poll. He said that the next big challenge would ll be the 2019 lok Sabha election followed by the Assembly poll in 2022.
The SP chief said that the BJP was misleading the people and pursuing patently divisive anti people agenda in the name of `Sabka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas (inclusive politics). He charged that demonetization and Goods and Services Tax have ruined the economy and millions of small traders and businessmen were suffering due to this.
