The Allahabad High Court on Friday reserved judgement on an application filed by dentist couple Nupur and Rajesh Talwar, challenging the order of the CBI court in Ghaziabad by which their demand to examine 14 witnesses was rejected.
The order was reserved by Justice RD Khare when the petition filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code was taken up on Friday.
Nupur and Rajesh, who are accused in the sensational murder of their daughter Arushi Talwar, have filed an application before the High Court, challenging the order passed by the CBI court in Ghaziabad on May 4, 2013. They had requested the CBI court for permission to examine 14 witnesses, but it was denied.
Earlier, both the doctor parents had approached the Supreme Court with the same request, but it was rejected. The apex court had also expressed displeasure at being directly approached by the Talwars instead of approaching the High Court first.
Arushi and Hemraj, who was the domestic help of the dentist couple, were done to death at the residence of the Talwars in Ghaziabad.
