High Court reportedly expresses dissatisfaction over the lokayukta’s closure report on enquiry against rampant illegal minister by  Gytari Prajapati and his associates.

Nutan Thakur claimed that taking up the petition filed by her in the lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, demanding for SIT enquiry regarding the various facts presented by her before lokayukta Justice (retd) NK Mehrotra against mining minister Gayatri Prajapati, was heard by the two judge bench comprising of  Justice A P Sahi and Justice A R Masudi.

She said that her counsel Asok Pande informed the court that they filed a  complaint on 26 December last year to Mehrotra regarding open loot of natural wealth in UP through illegal mining being undertaken in Prajapati’s direct patronage. The counsel told the court that the plea was dismissed by Mehrotra in extremely suspicious circumstances. Hence, he prayed for quashing this report and get the allegations of rampant illegal mining in the State and amassing of huge wealth be enquired by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Nutan claimed that expressing deep dissatisfaction over the lokayukta report, the Court asked lokayukta’s counsel Anupam Mehrotra how did the lokayukta comment against  Thakur and talked of further action against her when the enquiry itself was incomplete. The Court said that fact of illegal mining was quite an open secret and punishing someone who raises her voice against it does not seem appropriate. The Court asked lokayukta’s counsel to seek instructions from the lokayukta and bring all the facts regarding the enquiry before the Court on Friday.
