Congress seems to be divided house on the issue of judgement in Hasimpura case in which all the cops were acquitted by the court last week. While some senior Congress leaders supported the judgement claiming that it vindicated what the then chief minister of Congress led government, Veer Bhadhur Singh, had said but in a surprise move on Monday, the minority cell of the Party, under the leadership of State Congress president, Nirmal Khatri had came to the rescue of the family members of the victim and passed a resolution that they would give full support to the family members and led their voice to force the State government to file a review petition in the higher court.
Interestingly, when majority of senior leaders after almost total rout in last Parliamentary elections felt that the soft corner and appeasement towards the minority had cost them the polls, the move by State Congress on Monday was made in the name of making every bid to appease the minorities towards Congress in order to strengthen the Party. RsRsIf we wanted to make Congress powerful than we have to win the trust of the minorities”, asserted state president Nirmal Khatri, while addressing the leaders and workers of the minority cell of the UPCC here at Party state headquarter on Monday afternoon. Khatri hailed the efforts of the Cell in strengthening the Party and said that that they had to win the confidence of the minorities to once again strengthen the Party.
RsRsTo maintain the secular credentials of the country, we the minorities had to play important role and had to fight the communal forces”, claimed chairman of the Minority Cell of the All India Congress Committee, Khursheed Ahmed Syed. later in presence of both Nirmal Khatri and Syed, the Minority cell passed a resolution that they had full sympathy for the family members of the Hasimpura case victim’s and that they would give their full support in their quest for justice. Khatri claimed that they would demand that the state government should file a Special leave Petition (SlP) in the Apex Court to challenge the decision of the High Court in this regard.
