Congress state president Nirmal Khatri on Thursday termed the death of alleged militant of Harkat-ul-jehade-Islami as unfortunate.

the above claims soon after meeting the lawyer of Khalid Mujahid lodged in District Hospital at Faizabad on Thursday afternoon. The lawyer was admitted after he was reportedly attacked by some members of rival group on
Wednesday. Appealing to maintain communal harmony in the temple town, Khatri, who is also local Member of Parliament said that everyone should help the authorities to maintain peace.
Meanwhile social activists Nutan Thakur filed a Public Interest litigation (PIl) in support of nine policemen who faces suspension in wake of death of alleged HuJI militant, Khalid Mujahid. In the PIl filed here at lucknow Bench of
Allahabad High Court, Nutan Thakur cited that it has been settled through different Apex Court’s ruling that suspension shall be done after proper application of mind only when there are some really serious charges against the employee.
In contrast, in UP, many government employees are suspended for completely extraneous and arbitrary reasons. This is why many of these employees get completely exonerated later. The PIl cites the example of Dr Sanjay (Circle Officer of Cantt in lucknow), who was suspended for not answering one question by the then DGP and has now been reintated with no charges proved against him. Based on these facts, Thakur has prayed that all UP government officers be directed to make evaluation of all the suspensions during the last 5 years where no charge was later substantiated and to initiate action against the public servants responsible for these suspensions. She has also prayed for such directions to be issued for future.
