The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) member of Uttar Pradesh legislative Council, Hargovind Singh resigned from the membership of the House and joined the BJP.
Singh, who was facing disqualification after joining BJP said he had resigned on the moral grounds. In his resignation letter to legislative Council Chairman Ganesh Shanker Pandey, Hargovind Singh said that as he had joined BJP he was resigning from the membership of the house.
Singh’s term was to end on January 15, 2016. Earlier BSP had moved an application for the disqualification of its MlC after he publicly gave statements inn favour of the BJP
