Grand celebrations planned for Ram Lalla's consecration

Preparations for a grand consecration of Ram Lalla’s temple in Ayodhya are in full swing, promising a spectacular event that will draw people from around the world.

The occasion will not only celebrate the revered deity but also showcase a diverse tapestry of global cultures.

As Ram Lalla prepares to enter his new abode, the emphasis is on transforming Ayodhya into ‘Rammay’ – a city infused with the essence of Lord Ram. The preparations encompass a multitude of cultural programmes and religious rituals. In a remarkable move, the organisers are gearing up to invite artistes from 120 countries to participate in the Pran Pratisthan Mahotsav.

Sources reveal that approximately 120 countries still hold deep-rooted cultural traditions related to Lord Ram and the epic Ramayana. The vision is to invite a team of 10 artistes from each of these countries, who will interpret the Ramayana narrative in their own cultural context on various cultural stages set up across Ayodhya during the Pran Pratisthan Mahotsav.

This endeavour aims to unite artistes from around the globe in celebrating the shared cultural heritage represented by Lord Ram. Countries like Thailand, Russia, the United States, Trinidad, Fiji, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and others have previously sent artistes to Ayodhya for the Deepotsav, where they staged the Ramlila. Additionally, Ayodhya will be treated to a rich display of folk traditions from various regions of India as part of this cultural exchange.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trustees Board highlighted that the presence of international artistes at the consecration of Lord Ram Lalla’s temple would not only strengthen cultural ties with their respective nations but also provide the younger generation with an opportunity to learn and appreciate the culture of Lord Ram and the Ramayana. Nevertheless, a final decision on the participation of these artistes is pending.

In another development, organisers are planning to launch a commemorative booklet during the Pran Pratishthan Mahotsav to ensure the event is etched in memory. This booklet will serve as a historical record, preserving memories associated with the Ram Mandir movement. It will feature detailed accounts of the key figures who played pivotal roles in the movement, providing readers with an immersive experience as if they were part of this historic journey themselves.

“As the world eagerly awaits the consecration of Ram Lalla’s temple, the prospect of a global cultural showcase and a vivid depiction of the temple movement promises a truly unforgettable experience for all those in attendance,” said Vishwa Hindu Parishad spokesman Sharad Sharma.
