The Samajwadi Party suggested that the administrative officials should not act as puppet in the hands of their political masters as the government is determined to act tough against those trying to disturb communal peace of the state.

In his statement Samajwadi party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhry said here on Friday that government will take action against those who are trying to spread communal hatred by demolishing wall of a mosque. The statement was a veiled threat to those bureaucrats who had opposed suspension of SDM Gautambudh Nagar Durga Shakti Nagpal. "The conspirators will be dealt with firm hands as bureaucrats should not act as political puppets. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has shown his resolve to maintain communal peace of the state," Chaudhry said in a statement here.

Chaudhry, who is also Food and Civil Supplies minister in the Akhilesh Yadav Government said that the parties who have lost base in UP are trying to fan communal passion in the name of protecting an IAS officer. "The law has taken its course. The guilty would be punished," declared Chaudhry. Chief Minister has already defended suspension of Durga Nagpal saying it as an administrative decision. The lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court too did not take cognigance of the PIl on suspension saying the aggrieved party should move the court.
