Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, who is also Chancellor of state universities, has approved the schedule of convocations to be held in the state universities during the 2018-19 academic session.

The first convocation will be held at the Madan Mohan Malviya Technical University in Gorakhpur on August 24 and the last convocation of the current session will be held at Allahabad State University on November 15.

During the last academic session, the first convocation was held at Khawaza Moinuddin Chisti Urdu Arabic and Persian University in lucknow on September 7, 2017 and the last convocation was held at Shakuntala Mishra Rehabilitation University on May 18 this year. The Governor said in all state universities, convocations of the last academic session were completed.

The Raj Bhawan said in a statement on Sunday that Governor Ram Naik had taken measures for improving the academic standards of the state universities.

The statement said that to tide over the situation, the Governor had stabilised the academic calendar of the state universities and also organised the vice-chancellors’ conference twice during the year and this brought about all-round improvement s a result of which admissions and examinations were completed as per the academic calendar.
