Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav declared that government will open a Sports Academy for `Devyang’ besides setting up integrated schools for them in six districts of the state.
The announcement to this effect was made by Chief Minister during his meeting with silver medal winner of para Olympics Deepa Malik here in Kalidas Marg on Sunday.
He said sports is the only medium which teaches a participant how to digest defeat. This teaches us spirit of camaraderie and therefore the Samajwadi Party Government is trying to increase infrastructure in sports, he said.
“The government has announced new schemes for the sportspersons. New awards have also been announced for them. We want whosoever wants to play sports should get the opportunity,” Yadav said.
