A 47-year-old government school teacher in Hathras district was allegedly killed by his minor daughter and her boyfriend after he spotted them together in his house on Tuesday, police said on Wednesday.

Police claimed that they were conducting raids to nab the accused, who are absconding.

The deceased was identified as Durgesh Kant.

Kant's wife, Hemlata, who works as an auxiliary nurse and midwife (ANM) at a government hospital, was on duty when the incident happened, police said.

The girl’s paternal grandfather Harprasad Kumar, 70, in his complaint filed at the Hathras Gate police station, claimed that the girl, a student of Class 10, and her boyfriend killed his son by slitting his throat with a knife after hitting him with an iron rod.

The elderly man also stated that his granddaughter’s boyfriend also tried to kill the girl’s brother Rishi Kumar because he was the first to spot the body of his father lying in the room.

According to the police, Harprasad, on returning home at Nagra Algarzi village from the market with Rishi Kumar, asked his grandson to go upstairs to see if anyone was present as they found no one on the ground floor of the house.

“However, at the staircase, Rishi met his sister who tried to stop him from moving further. But he freed himself and moved further only to see his father lying in a pool of blood in a room. Rishi called out to his grandfather and when Harprasad reached the first floor he saw the girl and her lover trying to choke Rishi to death. On seeing Harprasad, both fled,” said an officer.

The police have booked the duo for the murder. “We have also taken in our possession the weapons used for the murder and got the post-mortem conducted late on Tuesday night. The accused are absconding and we are conducting raids to nab them,” said Hathras’s Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh.

Meanwhile in Deoria, a 22-year-old woman was found dead at her home on Wednesday with her family members claiming that she hanged herself from a ceiling fan.
