Unable to withstand the embarrassment after a youth posted her objectionable pictures on social media, a teenage girl ended her life by hanging herself at her home in Etah district on Monday night.
As per reports, Durvijay or Baghwala police station area clicked an objectionable picture of the victim and tried to take advantage of her. When she refused to give in to his lascivious demands, he threatened to upload the picture on social media. When the girl still did not budge, the miscreant uploaded her picture on the net. On Sunday, the girl’s photo was noticed by her brother, who in turn informed their parents. Soon, the girl too learnt about the incident and was so frustrated that she locked in a room of her home at Baghwala area and hanged herself.
As the news of her death spread, senior police officials including Additional SP, Circle Officer rushed to the spot to investigate the matter. Later, based on a complaint from the girl's father, an FIR was registered against Durvijay alias Kallan and he was arrested. The police also seized the mobile of the accused and were trying to confirm whether he also cheated other girls earlier.
SSP of Etah Uday Shankar Singh said that prime facie, it appeared to be a case of an affair between the two which turned sour due to some reason.
