A rape case was registered against former MLA from Sareni in Rae Bareli district, Surendra Bahadur Singh aka Danveer.
The case was registered by the police on the direction of the local court and now further investigations are on.
Reports said that a woman, in a case filed in a local court of Rae Bareli, alleged that Surendra and his henchmen gang-raped her on May 23 this year but in fear, she did not contact the police immediately.
She, however, contacted the cops at Sareni police station on June 2 and handed over an application to register a gang-rape case against the accused but the cops just received her complaint and took no action on it.
She also reportedly met senior officers on June 10 and revealed her trauma but still they took no action. Finally finding no other way to get the culprits punished, she knocked on the door or the court.
Reports said that while hearing the application of the woman in the court on the basis of the documents submitted by her advocate Ram Prakash Singh along with documents, the ACJM Court issued order to register a case of gang-rape against former MLA Surendra Bahadur Singh and other named persons.
A case was finally registered and further investigations are on.
