Taking a jibe at black marketer Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that demonetisation of high value currency notes has bridged the gap between rich and poor with the result the black marketers are fuming with rage while the poor are elated over this decision.

"Demonetisation has brought the biggest social change in the society. The rich who are not able to park their black money will now use these currency notes to burn bonfire instead of wood in this winter,” Gadkari said while addressing a Parivartan Yatra in Sultanpur on Thursday.

He said that some leaders are opposing this move because this decision has reduced their stashed money into trash in just one stroke. “look Mayawati has criticised this decision. She is bound to do it because she is used to wearing garlands of high value currency notes,” he said and added that the party which has put a money tag over its ticket has no right to question Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation move.

“The situation is no different in Samajwadi Party. The family members are quarreling over division of money members of the family have earned during the four and half year rule of Akhilesh Yadav,” he said.

He said the law and order situation in the state had deteriorated since Akhilesh Yadav came to power. The development has come to a naught.  The Chief Minister had promised quality electric supply but power is playing truant in villages. The people are fed up with this mis-rule and want a change, he said.

Minister of State in Modi Government Anupriya Patel said that Mayawati has fooled people on the name of empowering of dalit. She has been exposed and has lost respect among the dalit. This election will prove a waterloo for Mayawati, she said.

"This Parivartan yatra is not merely a Yatra calling for change in the society. In fact, it is Sandesh yatra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," she declared.
