Two former BSP legislators joined the BJP on Wednesday saying Yogi Government was working on the right track and it was the only party which could work for the uplift of poor and the downtrodden.

Former BSP MlC Prashant Chaudhary, former BSP MlA from Baghpat Hemlata Chaudhary and District Panchayat members of Ghaziabad joined the BJP along with their supporters in the presence of state party chief Keshav Prasad Maurya. Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Vijay Bahuguna was also present on this occasion.

The BSP leaders said that in the last three months, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken steps to ameliorate the grievances of the poor and the downtrodden. "The CM’s popularity has gone up among people because of the hard work he puts in," they said.

In his address, Maurya said that the BJP government was committed to restoring law of the land across the state. "Goonda elements will not be spared. The state will be brought back to the path of development," he promised.
