The Forest Department is mulling on the issue of mating the first pair of lions that are currently at the lion Safari. Sources at the Forest Department reveal that are in talks with the Zoo Vets for carrying out the mating of the lions.
It may be noted that lion Safari one of the major projects of the Samajwadi Party is rolling out with great speed and that there is one pair of lion that has already been shifted to the Safari. The Safari will have four pairs of breeding lions.
“We have been consulting the Zoo Vets to carry out the mating of the lions and we hope to do this soon. The lions are between the ages of four to six and have adjusted well at the Safari. The next pair of lions will only be shifted after the permission of the Central Zoo Authority. The team has to visit the Safari before it gives its permission” said reliable sources. The lions are being fed on buffalo meat and given one fast day on Friday.
Meanwhile the lion Safari is also witnessing the plantations inkeeping with the ongoing Van Mahotsav. “There are over twenty trees being planted on one hectare and there are plantations also being carried for the beautification purposes” said the sources.
