A man was arrested for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl in Sandila area of Hardoi on Saturday.
SP of Hardoi, Anurag Vats said that the girl was allegedly raped by her tuition teacher’s brother while she had gone to his residence to attend classes. The victim was sent for medical examination and the police has arrested the accused. “An FIR will be registered and evidence of the crime will also be collected,” he said.
Meanwhile in Azamgarh, a 16-year-old mentally unstable boy was caught for allegedly bludgeoning an elderly couple to death with a stone in Garholi village on Friday night.
Shrinath Maurya (70) and his wife Maina Devi (65) were sleeping in the verandah of their house when they were killed during the night. The couple’s son works in Mumbai and they were alone in the house at the time of the incident.
Children playing in the vicinity of the house noticed their bloodied bodies and raised an alarm.
The perpetrator of the crime was later identified as Golu Maurya of the same village. The police said that Golu’s family used to keep him locked in a room. But on Friday night, he managed to slip out and bludgeoned the couple. The bodies were sent for autopsy.
Meanwhile in Aligarh, three passengers were killed and five injured after the bus they were travelling in overturned in Tappal area. The bus carrying 45 passengers was headed to Delhi from Kanpur when the vehicle hit a road divider in Simrathi locality and turned turtle.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath condoled the death of passengers and directed officials to extend best possible medicare to the injured. Efforts were being made to identify the victims. .
