In a gruesome incident, five members of a family, including a couple and their four-year-old daughter, were stabbed to death near Laxmi Bai crossing under Kotwali police station of Hamirpur on Thursday night.
Superintendent of Police Hemraj Meena said that five members of the family of one Rais were found dead inside their house. All of them had been brutally stabbed to death.
The district police chief said they were investigating the crime but prima facie it some personal enmity appeared to be the motive.
The deceased were identified as Rais (30), his wife Roshni (30), their daughter Aliya (4), Rais’ grandmother Sakina (62) and niece, also named Roshni (10).
Senior police officials were on the spot and forensic experts had been called for investigation.
