FIR lodged against Abid Raza and Azhar Siddiqui

Expelled ruling Samajwadi Party MlA Abid Raza and his representative Azhar Siddiqui have now been accused of kidnapping and extortion.

"A farmer from Kutubpur Thara village under Binawar police station area, Nihaluddin has lodged a case against the MlA and his aide," confirmed SSP, Badaun Sunil Saxena.

The top cop said that the farmer charged the MlA from Badaun Sadar seat of demanding Rs 25 lakh for party fund for getting a fake FIR lodged against his son withdrawn. The legislator has also been charged of threatening the farmer's family.

After much difficulty, the farmer collected the cash through loans and gave it to the legislator, but the case was not withdrawn. The farmer's son had to go to jail and was released after bail in December, 2014.  When the family demanded the return of the cash, legislator Abid Raza kidnapped them. While releasing the family, the MlA warned them not to inform the police failing and handed out life threats.

The family also charged that since the accused was a ruling Party MlA, the local police refused to get a case registered. But after he was expelled in August for anti-party activities, the cops took cognizance and took action.

Saxena said a case was registered at Sadar Kotwali on Friday, after the victims produced evidence of the cash being accepted by the legislator and his representative on November 28 last year. The case was registered under Sections 364(A), 323, 504 and 506 (IPC). The SSP said a probe was underway and further action will be taken after verifying the evidences.
