FEE STRUCTURE REGUlARIZED

In an attempt to regulate admission fee in private technical institutions the state government has regularized the fees structure in private institutions so that these colleges do not fleece students and work in a transparent manner.

The decision was taken by the state cabinet in its meeting on Friday.

Government spokesman said that there was no guideline to regulate fee structure in these private technical institutions. Because of this these institutions are charging exorbitant fees. Under the new law government will set up a committee that will fix admission fee. Those institutions that do not agree with that fee structure will give in writing to the committee as why they want to charge more, he said.

“If the committee agrees with the arguments if the college it can enhance its fees structure otherwise it will have to stick to government-designed fee mode,” he said.

The government is all set to allow post-mortem in medical colleges – both private and government – under certain conditions so as to facilitate post-graduation in forensic science in these colleges.

Government spokesman said in a statement that Government is ready to open its door for post-mortem in medical colleges if they fulfill the guidelines of Uttar Pradesh Medical Manual. “The private medical colleges have been asking for allowing post-mortem in their colleges as this would facilitate post-graduation in forensic science,” the spokesman said.

If these colleges fulfill those guideline they will be free to do post-mortem. This will also ease pressure from the district hospitals where post-mortems are carried out now, he said.
