With sensational shoot-out inside court premises in Faizabad on Wednesday had once again exposed the much publicised claims of local administration of tight security in the communal sensitive district, the statement of Additional Director General of Police (law and Order) Mukul Goel, created further controversy, on Wednesday.
``The shoot-out and killing of one of the criminals from attackers side pointed that the henchmen of Yash Bhadra Singh aka Monu, were also carrying country made weapons but sometime it proved `good’ as it helped to eliminate of the accused in cross-firing”, disclosed Mukul Goel, while talking to media persons soon after coming out of the Faizabad Court, on Wednesday afternoon. Interestingly, on one side he admitted that illegal weapons were carried inside the court but on the other side also hailed claiming that it helped to get one of the criminals eliminated. Goel, however, tried to clarify that action will be also taken against the accused, who carried weapons inside the court as no one is allowed to do so even if it a licence weapon.
Goel, who rushed to Faizabad soon after getting the information about shoot-out and also as District Judge of Faizabad  had showed his serious concern  and  had summoned senior officers in his chamber, further claimed that he had discussed the security issue with senior officers. He said that from Thursday, proper door frame metal detectors as well as hand held metal detectors would be placed in Faizabad as well as other important courts of the State and they would try to ensure that no one should enter with proper frisking. He claimed that they had also seek help in this regard from different bar associations.
It may be mentioned here that state government as  well as both the benches of Allahabad High Court had showed their serious concern over security inside court premises after militants struck and exploded series of bombs simultenously in district courts at Faizabad, lucknow and Varanasi on November 23, 2007. After this serial blasts which also claimed over a dozen lives, then chief minister, Mayawati, had formed Anti-Terrorists Squad (ATS), to thwart any further militant activity in the State.
About Wednesday’s killing, Goel said that so far it pointed that the shoot-out took place to avenge the death of Sant Gyaneshwar but since the complainant also named Pandit Singh, former minister in BSP government and one another Kamla Devi of Sultanpur, so they would look into it. He claimed that teams were formed and sleuths of the Special Task Force (STF) have been also alerted to trace out the criminals who struck at district court in Faizabad on Wednesday, so a trap could be laid on them.
