Panic gripped Chitrakoot after an unclaimed bag full of explosives was found abandoned inside a bus at Karbi bus station on Tuesday morning.
The local police, along with senior officers, later rushed to the spot and after finding that the bus was scheduled to go to Prayagraj, they alerted their counterparts, especially due to the ongoing Kumbh Mela at Sangam City.
As per reports, someone informed police control room in Chitrakoot that some bags were lying unclaimed in a bus at Karbi bus station on Tuesday morning. The police reached the spot and found a bag containing about 25 kilograms of explosives and six other bags packed with wires. The bus in which it was kept was scheduled to go to Shivrajpur at Prayagraj.
During random questioning of locals, the police were told by some vendors that they saw two youths on a motorcycle dumping the bags inside the bus and leaving the bus station. Further investigations are on in this regard.
