Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav directed the officials to expedite the work of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s dream project `lion Safari’ in Etawah.

Making a surprise inspection of the on-going construction work at proposed lion Safari in Etawah on Saturday afternoon, Akhilesh Yadav, asked the officers of Forest Department and other organisations concerned that they should finish the task at earliest but no compromise should be made on quality of work. `I wanted this lion safari to be one of the best wild life sanctuary in the country where people especially children could also enjoy picnic", Akhilesh directed to the officers while taking round of the picnic spot area.

Chief Minister later also visited the Breeding Centre, veterinary hospital, etc. Akhilesh  claimed that the above wild life sanctuary would not just turn out to be boon for the area as far as environment is concerned but it also contribute in saving the animals along with multiplying their numbers by providing them best breeding ground.

Akhilesh Yadav also took the opportunity to interact with the villagers of his native village who thronged at the lion Safari site to meet chief minister and air their problems. Most of the local residents asked Akhilesh Yadav that the development in the area is moving at snails pace while the district need better education facilities for the children and youths.  Chief Minister assured them of looking into their demand.

It may be mentioned here that both Akhilesh Yadav and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav, who is also Samajwadi Party  president, along with other members of the family were frequenting to Etawah to enjoy Saifai Mahotsav, a musical and entertainment show organised every year in Etawah.

lion Safari is also dream project of former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav which is now being fulfilled by his son Akhilesh Yadav.Meanwhile SP's state executive member K P Yadav was expelled from the party for alleged anti-party activities. Spokesman of the SP, Rajendra Chowdhary, claimed here on Saturday evening that Yadav was earlier given a show cause notice for working against a party candidate for the coming general elections but he did not give any reply, so he was expelled. Yadav was declared SP's candidate from Jaunpur constituency for the coming lok Sabh elections but later replaced by Parasnath Yadav.
