Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma threatened to file a criminal defamation case against UP Congress chief Ajay Kumar ‘Lallu’ over his statement against the minister over scam in power employees’ provident fund investment in DHFL.
“UP Congress chief has made a personal attack on me which is unacceptable. If he fails to tender unconditional apology then I will be forced to file a criminal defamation case against him,” the minister said on Monday.
On Sunday, UP Congress president Ajay Kumar ‘Lallu’ had demanded resignation of the Energy Minister over the EPF investment issue. However, the minister did not say a word about Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, who had alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party had taken a donation of Rs 20 crore from DHFL.
