Terming the indefinite strike of state government employees as unjustified the Samajwadi party said that only Akhilesh Yadav Government had worked for the welfare of the employees and in future would also work for their betterment.
"The employees should not forget that only SP Government had worked for their betterment. They salary has been increased by 27 to 30 per cent in last one year and half besides age limit for appointment in Government sector has also been increased by this Government," SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhry said in a statement here on Wednesday.
Over 16 lakh Government employees are on strike since Tuesday demanding pay-parity with central Government as well as revival of old pension scheme. Chaudhry said that it was Akhilesh Government that announced medical benefits for the government employees and also announced promotional benefits. Guidelines are also being made about appointment of safai karamcharis.
"It was only Mulayam Singh Yadav who put his foot down on reservation in promotional issues that thwarted central government move that was triggered by BSP’s Mayawati," he said and added: "The employees should identify between friends and foe. The parties like BJP are supporting them because of political reason. It will betray the employees once they attain their goals."Chaudhry, who is also Jail Minister in the state cabinet said that the vexed issues can be resolved through dialogues not through agitation.
