Social Activists Nutan Thakur claimed that the Election Commission of India has taken cognizance of her complaint regarding Rahul Gandhi speech about alleged role of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in Muzaffarnagar made in Indore.
Nutan Thakur claimed that she send a complaint to Election Commissioner H S Brahma and asked that if what Rahul Gandhi says is true, then the Intelligence officer has exceeded his brief by sharing information with a private unauthorized person so that he does not deserve any further continuation in the Intelligence Organization. She had requested the Election Commission to take appropriate action in this matter as per Election laws because these words were spoken during an election rally.
Nutan said that she got a reply of the Election Commissioner through e-mail in which he assured "definitly we shall try to get into bottom of this issue." She claimed that now she is hoping or early probe into the matter so appropriate action could be initiated.
Meanwhile in another controversy which arises out of statement made by Samajwadi Party MP, Naresh Agarwal, another social activist Urvashi Sharma dispatched a complaint in this regard to Zareena urf Fatma Usmani, who is Chairperson of U.P. State Commission for Women. She demanded to take cognizance of sarcasm and use of derogatory words showing utter disrespect towards widow community by Naresh Agarwal and to get him punished according to law of the land.
In her complaint, Urvashi claimed that Naresh commented "In my village there is a saying that if you ask a widow for blessings, she will ask you to become like her," which is highly objectionable. She claimed that India has been known for history of social reformers like Sri Raja Ram Mohan Rai who worked for widows’ welfare so that they are socially acceptable like a normal woman. Even today governments run various welfare schemes for widows. Even then, the attitude of a minister of such stature using such mean and derogatory words towards widows , thereby showing them in a most unacceptable way is not only highly unwarranted under law but anti-social also.
Urvashi requested the commission to take punitive action against Naresh Agarwal (for his anti social acts) as per the rules and the law of the land. It may be mentioned that National Commission for Women had also taken cognizance of Naresh Agarwal’s statement and claimed that the Commission will took up the issue with the concerned SP leader.
