Despite polling being over in Ferozabad district, the Election Commission of India (ECI) removed three senior officials including District Magistrate and District Police Chief on Thursday morning. The Commission also posted replacements and directed the incumbents to join immediately.
As per reports, the EC released an order removing DM of Ferozabad Rajesh Prasad and SP Himanshu Kumar. EC sources said that Neha Sharma will be the new DM of Ferozabad while Ajay Kumar will be the new SP. The Commission has also changed the SDM of Sikhoabad tehsil (Ferozabad) Prem Chand Singh and replaced him with Ambrish Kumar Bind.
Ferozabad is the Parliamentary constituency of Akshay Yadav, son of senior SP leader Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav. The district went to the polls in the first phase on February 11 with no complaints by any party. The ECI shunted the two officers without citing any reason.
