In a bizarre incident at Badaun, a drunken youth shot at his three sisters in Kadarchowk area late on Wednesday night. While one of the sisters died on the spot, the two were admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
SP of Badaun, Jitendra Kumar Srivastava rushed to the spot and later told the media that accused Rahat Ali was named in an FIR by their mother Afroz Begun. She complained that her son was drunk and opened fire at the girls after they rebuked him for drinking. After the shooting, Nazreen (16) died on the spot while Khusnaseeb and Yasmeen were critically injured. later, the accused fled from the scene.
The injured were rushed to the district hospital from where both were referred for Bareilly. The police has launched a manhunt to nab the absconding Rahat. The father and the victims work as labourer in Delhi.
Meanwhile in Muzaffarnagar, a 35-year-old mother of two, committed suicide when her lover refused to marry her as promised on Wednesday. Shahana, wife of Deen Mohammad, consumed poison at her home in Ibrahimpur village on Wednesday evening, as she could not bear the shock of betrayal by her lover. The married lover, who was her neighbour, has three children and the liaison was about a year old. The woman’s body was sent for post-mortem.
In one another case in Muzaffarnagar, a 22-year-old man was beaten to death in a road rage case, leading to tension in two border villages of UP and Uttarakhand on Monday.
Sakesh Chauhan of Jogawala village in Uttarakhand, was riding his motorcycle and accidentally hit another biker from Dallawala village in neighbouring Muzaffarnagar. An altercation ensued between Chauhan and the other biker, who was joined by his friends. As tempers rose, the group from Dallawala attacked Chauhan with sticks seriously injuring him. The assailants later fled. The injured was taken to a hospital but he succumbed. later angry residents of the two villages clashed with each other.
SHO of Bhopa police station, B P Singh said that security has been beefed up in Jogawala village under his jurisdiction and extra forces from Uttarakhand and UP Police have been deployed in the area.
