A petty dispute between two boys, one of whose father was a history-sheeter of local police station in Hardoi, took an ugly turn when the listed criminal killed the boy but was later also lynched by the agitated neighbours on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, 15-year-old Pankaj Gupta, a resident of Ahemi locality of Pihani in Hardoi had dispute with 14-year-old Shivam, when they both were playing with other children of the locality on Tuesday evening. The matter was cooled down after some neighbours intervened and asked both the boys to play together and not to fight over petty matters.

However, the matter took an ugly turn on Wednesday morning when Shivam’s father Virendra, who was history-sheeter of the local police station and had a long criminal history in his name, had intercepted Pankaj when he was going to college.
