Dimple Yadav, Samajwadi Party candidate from Kannauj and wife of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav filed nomination for her second term in lok Sabha on Thursday and called upon the voters to continue their love and affections as showered by them in the past.

The SP candidate along with her husband reached Kannauj in the morning and addressed a public meeting at the K K College ground and thereafter filed the nomination papers.

She filed her nominations in four sets.

Addressing the public, Yadav said she was fortunate to receive such good response from the people of the area. "I want continue to work for you and for your well being,"

she said and added: "leaders like Ram Manohar lohia, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh have served Kannauj and now it is my turn to serve you,"

.

Yadav contested her first elections from Ferozabad lok Sabha seat in a by-elections after her husband vacated the seat after being elected from both Kannauj and Ferozabad in the 2009 lok Sabha elections.  She lost to Congress leader Raj Babbar.

But after Akhilesh became the CM of UP, she won the Kannuaj lok Sabha seat unopposed in the by-elections in 2012.

Chief Minister who also addressed the gathering called upon the people of Kannauj to support Dimple.   "Voters of Kannauj should lead SP’s battle against the communal forces as these forces are trying to raise their head in Uttar Pradesh once again," he said.

The CM made it clear that lok Sabha elections in UP will be crucial this time as the next Prime Minister of the country will be from this state.  "Communal forces are making all efforts to woo the voters through their false propaganda and people should be aware of this," he said.

"This time the elections is between the secular and communal forces and voters have to choose between the real secular parties and those who just talks about it but does nothing," he said.

Talking about the achievement of his government, the CM said no government in the past has done such works in just two years of its tenure. "Distribution of laptops to the

youths, unemployment allowances and other welfare schemes for the people have been launched besides free medicines, tests and ambulances were provided to the people by his government," he said.

Kannauj will go to polls on April 24.
