Singh made the claims after kicking off a training for Special Police Operating Team (SPOT) sleuths in the new ATS office campus in l ucknow on Tuesday afternoon.

Citing official data, Singh said, “While dacoity has come down by 36.96 per cent, loot has reduced by 19 per cent, murder by one per cent, burgalry by 12.84 per cent, riots by 6.94 per cent, kidnapping for ransom by 8.7 and rape by 6.91 per cent between Jan 1 to July 15 this year.” The DGP claimed, “The police arrested 5,677 criminals, including 2,068 reward-carrying offenders and 62 miscreants were killed in encounters.
