In a strategic move to reach every household, the Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to launch a micro public relations campaign through popular food delivery platforms like Zomato and Swiggy, as well as ride-hailing services such as Ola and Uber.
This innovative approach aims to leverage the extensive reach and influence of delivery boys and drivers to connect with the masses.
The decision was revealed during a crucial meeting between BJP general secretary BL Santosh and state officials of the party here on Saturday. Santosh emphasised the need to adopt innovative methods for conducting campaigns and engaging with the public effectively.
“Delivery boys from Zomato and Swiggy, along with Ola and Uber drivers, have become an integral part of people’s daily lives. They reach people’s homes and workplaces every day, which provides an excellent opportunity for us to connect with citizens on a personal level,” Santosh said during the meeting here on Saturday.
He said that the party believed that these delivery boys and drivers could play a pivotal role in spreading the party’s message and garnering support at the grassroots level.
“With millions of orders and rides taking place every day, this micro contact campaign is expected to have a significant impact,” he said.
“We are also planning to involve former office-bearers to assist in the campaign. Their experience and familiarity with the party’s functioning are seen as valuable assets to ensure a successful outreach effort,” he added.
Furthermore, in a bid to address internal dissent, Santosh instructed the office-bearers to engage with disgruntled leaders and persuade them to rally behind the party’s goals. This move aims to ensure a unified front and avoid any internal divisions that could hinder the campaign’s effectiveness.
The micro public relations campaign proposed by the BJP received praise from the attendees during the meeting. They acknowledged the party’s ability to adapt to changing times and employ innovative tactics to stay connected with the people.
“As the campaign gears up to kick-start through delivery services and ride-hailing drivers, political analysts are keeping a close eye on its outcome. If successful, this unique approach could pave the way for other parties to adopt similar strategies in their future campaigns,” Anil Rastogi, a political analyst, said.
