Welcoming the Allahabad High Court's decision of asking the UP government to declare Dengue as an epidemic in the state, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati again announced that her party would probe all financial irregularities of the SP government.
"Now Akhilesh Yadav should work and declare the state as Dengue-hit and leave behind his family dispute so that the people do not suffer further. It is unfortunate that the HC had to intervene in the state government's working to provide relief to suffering people," she said.
After being rapped by the HC recently, the CM had directed officials to launch a campaign in every district to check the disease.
Mayawati said while the SP government has admitted 113 deaths due to Dengue across UP, unofficial statistics putthe death toll at an alarming 219 in lucknow alone.
In a statement released on Friday, Mayawati said that the decision to hike honorarium of pradhans and distribution of steel plates and glass with the CM's photo and SP's symbol on them, the SP was violating norms. It has been done to influence voters before the 2017 Assembly polls.
"When BSP comes to power in the state in 2017, it will order a probe into all financial irregularities done by this government. Through developmental works, the SP leaders and contractors have only minted money and the people have hardly benefited from them," she announced.
Taking a dig at the alleged SP first family's feud, Mayawati said that the Chief Minister should take out time from the ongoing fracas and concentrate on people's sufferings.
