Mystery shrouds death of a 20-year-old youth whose body was found hanging with a tree in Moradabad on Sunday evening. The accused was picked up by local police on Saturday evening after which he went missing and later found hanging.

While the local cops were trying to hush up the matter claiming it to be a case of suicide, the family members of the victim alleged that torture by the local police at behest of a local family resulted into death.

They alleged that both the local resident and the police connived to kill the youth and later to make it a case of suicide they hanged the body with a tree. Interestingly, the cops get a murder and for making efforts to conceal the crime, registered against five members of the family but they not named any policemen, claiming that action will be only taken after probe into the matter.

Reports said that Ram Kishore, a resident of Tumadiyakala locality of Dilari in Moradabad, lodged a case against one Sonu Singh, accusing him of making an assault in connection with some money related dispute. The compliant was lodged on last Friday morning and a sub-inspector Ratnesh Kumar, who is incharge of the Jalalpur police outpost of Dilari police station, made a quick move when he immediately got Sonu arrested under Section 151 of Cr PC and sent him to jail in the name of creating trouble for law and order.

On next afternoon, Sonu was released on bail by the local magistrate. However, to further torture Sonu, on the same Saturday evening, Ram Kishore’s wife handed over application to Ratnesh Kumar, this time alleging that the accused (Sonu), had barged inside her house and had molested her 15-year-old daughter beside abusing and threatening her.

Much to the surprise of the family members of Sonu, SI Ratnesh Kumar once again acted very swiftly and without considering that Sonu, was out on bail just on the same afternoon, he picked him up in connection with molestation case.  Sources said that in presence of Ram Kishore family members, the cops brutally assaulted Sonu and threatened to ensure that he would be not released from jail.

However, the matter took a turn when the family members went to enquire about Sonu, and learnt from the cops that he had already slipped from police custody. The family members lodged a search and on Sunday evening, they were shocked to find his body hanging with a tree in the farmhouse of one Virendra in Jalalpur area of Dilari.

The family members claimed that it seems that the cops and family members of Ram Kishore killed Sonu and later to conceal the crime, they hanged the body with a tree and informed them that he had slipped from the police station and committed suicide.

SSP Moradabad, who got a murder and concealment of crime case registered against Ram Kishore and four other of his family members, claimed that since the role of police is also coming in the crime, so he got the post-mortem conducted by doctors panel and also ordered a magisterial probe. No one was arrested so far and further investigations are on in the matter.

Meanwhile in a separate case reported from Bareilly, a 19-year-old girl was allegedly offered drink laced with sedatives by three youths who then raped her and filmed the act on mobile phone. The incident took place on Sunday evening when one of the accused identified as Shubham took the girl to a hotel where he was joined by Shivam Kumar and Sachin. The girl was offered a drink laced with sedatives and after the girl fell unconscious, the trio raped her.

The victim also alleged that the accused had made MMS of the sexual assault on her and before allowing her to go back, they threatened her with dire consequences if she would tell anyone of the incident. The girl, after gaining consciousness reached back home and informed her parents about the incident following which an FIR was lodged on Monday morning. local police claimed that prima facie charges of sexual assault has been confirmed in the medical examination so they launched an all out hunt for the accused who fled soon after the incident.
