Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Danish Ansari, has slammed All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi for his provocative statement against the survey of madrasas being carried out by the state government.
Owaisi has alleged that the real agenda of the survey is to end India's diversity and Muslim identity.
“There is no proposal to shut the unrecognised madrasas and the objective of the survey is overall improvement of the education level and infrastructure of the religious schools. Owaisi is deliberately making statements in intemperate language to hog the headlines in the media,” Danish Ansari said and added, “Owaisi is no messiah of Muslims; his politics is clueless and he is politically bankrupt so he is making provocative statements.”
Ansari said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath only speak about the uplift and overall welfare of Muslims while Owaisi was pursuing only divisive agenda.
Ansari also targeted former UP chief minister and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati for her statement over the survey of Islamic schools.
He said the opposition was unnerved by the growing support among the Muslims for the Bharatiya Janata Party and the sole attempt of the opposition parties was to mislead the Muslims as they treated the Muslims as a mere vote bank.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday said that the BJP was against Muslim identity.
“The BJP is against Muslim identity. They think they have danger from halal meat, Muslims' caps, and their beards. They have problems with their food habits. The party is actually against Muslim identity," the AIMIM chief said.
He further alleged that the BJP's real agenda was to end India's diversity.
"The prime minister’s words 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas' are hollow rhetoric. BJP's real agenda is to end India's diversity and Muslim identity," Owaisi said.
Owaisi is planning to gain a stronghold in UP politics. His party is planning to contest the coming elections to urban local bodies.
Shaukat Ali, state president of AIMIM, said that the people were coming towards AIMIM.
“We are contesting in east UP, Purvanchal, central UP and Bundelkhand. Leaders of the Samajwadi Party will join AIMIM. The 2017 elections were polarised by the BJP through the media. The Muslims thought that the SP could defeat the BJP,” the AIMIM leader said.
