Carrying forward his party’s agenda of wooing Brahmins before the 2022 UP Assembly elections, Bahujan Samaj Party general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra alleged that Dalits and Brahmins were bearing the brunt of the most cases of harassment under the present Bharatiya Janata Party regime in Uttar Pradesh.
“Brahmins are being killed in this government’s rule almost every day while during the BSP regime, Dalits and Brahmins along with members of all sections of society (Sarvajan) lived with dignity and without any fear. In Uttar Pradesh, Dalits, who account for 23 per cent of the population, are associated with the BSP like Govardhan Parvat and I want to tell the Brahmin society which comprises 13 per cent of the state population that if you also join us, then the government of bahujan samaj will be formed once again in the state. The government of the people will be formed and their dignity will be restored," Mishra stressed while addressing a Prabuddh Varg Sammelan, (commonly known as Brahmin Sammelan) in Mathura on Saturday.
Before addressing the sammelan, Mishra worshipped at Shri Banke Bihariji's temple in Vrindavan.
Kicking off the second phase of the Prabuddh Varg Sammelan in Mathura on Saturday, the BSP leader said that when a Brahmin leader of BJP, Haridwar Dubey, was asked by the media why Brahmins were angry with him and what would he do, Dubey has used derogatory words for Brahmins and said that where would the Brahmins go.
"According to the ruling BJP, Brahmin is the brother-in-law of BJP. Together we all have to break their illusion. When the government of BSP leader Mayawati was formed, then we worked for all-round development of Vrindavan, the city of Lord Krishna, and worked towards solving the people’s problems in Vrindavan. Work of getting sewer line, water lines were done with gusto. There was little power supply, and the then BSP regime opened a power house here and also set up a 100-bed hospital so that the people did not face health problems. The same government declared the Govardhan fair as a government fair. But the BJP government, which claims to be the contractor of religion, is not even able to take care of it," Mishra reminded the gathering.
The BSP leader said that the BJP government wanted to end Sanatan Dharma, for which they had closed many Sanskrit schools and colleges.
“There is neither employment in this regime nor women's security or farmers’ welfare, what to talk about proper law and order. The good days are not for the people, but they have definitely come for the ruling BJP. That is why all of you are requested to get rid of this government engaging in false promises in election time, otherwise the coming generations will never forgive us all,” he added.
