With an aim to popularize cycling a Cyclist Federation of Uttar Pradesh has been formed that would suggest government about cycle tracks, traffic lights and how to clear connectivity of cyclists.

The federation would be headed by Chief Medical officer of lucknow Dr SNS Yadav.

“The federation will suggest ways and means to popularize cycle. A team had visited Hague and Amsterdam in Netherlands, Berlin in Germany and Paris in France to study the cycle tracks there. They will try to implement cycle culture in UP in lines of these European cities,” government spokesman said in a release issued here on Sunday.

He said that first meeting of the Federation was held in Janeshwar Mishra park and in no time over 200 people have become members.

It may be recalled that the state government has built cycle tracks in lucknow to promote cycling among the common people. The efforts are on to promote lucknow and Agra as cycle friendly cities, he said.
