Curtain came down on the ninth national convention of Samajwadi Party with its national president Mulayam Singh Yadav giving a clarion call to maintain brotherhood and prevent communal forces from vitiating the peace of the state.
In his address on the concluding day of the convention here on Friday Yadav touched almost all the issues that include rise of communal forces in the country, growing threat from neighbours including China and Pakistan and also spoke at length about the achievements of the Akhilesh Yadav Government.
“The youth of the country should be aware of the increase in the activities of communal forces in the country. Remember Samajwadi Party has always fought against these communal forces. live up to the expectations of the leaders and the people,” Yadav said.“You should maintain brotherhood in the society and should be ready to give sacrifice if required,” he said. “Go back to the people. Inform them about the good work being done by the Samajwadi Party Government and apprise them of the evil designs of the communal forces,” Yadav told the party cadre.
Terming the situation as tense in the border with Pakistan Yadav said Pakistan is playing a dirty game but will not succeed. “Pakistan can’t stand India’s might, but it is also a fact that some political parties are trying to exploit the situation on border for their own gain,” he said without elaborating further.
Hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi he said the NDA Government had failed to fulfill its promises. “During election campaign Modi had said that he would give employment to youth, bring down inflation and curb corruption. Nothing happened in these four months. On the other hand Samajwadi Party Government has fulfilled all the promises it had made to people in its first year,” he  said.
“The people should realize which party is better,” he said.Mulayam Singh Yadav said SP always fought for the farmers issues. But the present BJP government had done nothing for this sector. “We have followed the path shown by Dr lohia and Jai Prakash Narain and want that the farmers should get good return of their produce. Till now the BJP government has shown no inclination towards ending the miseries of the farmers,” he said. “SP has never compromised with Anyaya (injustice) and Atyachar. The party will continue to raise people’s voice and will be ready to give any sacrifice,” he said.
